NOTE: Mileage Keeper will now compose an e-mail for you that has one attachment for each of your vehicles.
Tap on the 'To:' line in the e-mail and enter an e-mail address, typically your own
Tap on 'Send'
That's it, you just sent your Mileage Keeper data!
When the e-mail has been sent, tap the 'Done' button to go back to the Mileage Keeper main screen
I tapped on the Compose button and an error message popped up!
You need to have at least one e-mail account configured to send data on your device.
Try to send a test e-mail to yourself from your device's 'Mail' app.
If that doesn't work, check your e-mail configuration in the 'Settings' app under 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
What if I have multiple vehicles?
Mileage Keeper will add one attachment for each vehicle to the e-mail message. For example, if you have 4 vehicles, you'll see 4 attachments. Be sure to scroll down if you don't see them.
What is the format of the attachment?
The .CSV file consists of:
One header row followed by one row for each refueling in this vehicle.
The header row will have localized strings for Date, Odometer, Fuel Amount, Cost, Note, Is Partial, and Is Skipped.
Each data row will have data for one refueling, in the same order as the header
The data will be formatted according to your localized style.
All fields will be double-quoted to ensure that potential embedded comma's are OK
The fields in a record will be separated by a comma character.
If the Note itself has a double-quote in it, that double-quote will be 'doubled'
If a refueling does not include Cost and/or a Note, that field will be blank.
'Is Partial' will be blank for refuelings that are full refuelings, and 'X' if it is a partial refueling
'Is Skipped' will be blank for refuelings that are not skipped, and 'X' if it is a skipped refueling
"11/2/11","54500","6.345",,"This was ""city"" driving",,X
"11/3/11","54843","7.654",,,,
My spreadsheet program doesn't import the attachment correctly, now what?
This typically happens in regions of the world that use a comma as a 'decimal' separator. If you are using Microsoft Windows, click on "Start, Control Panel, Region and Language, Formats, Additional Settings...". Set the "List Separator" to a comma (,) and try again.
